When it comes to selecting the right trailer plugs for your trailer, you need to select a plug that has the corresponding pins to the wires in your trailer. You can choose from 5-pin, 7-pin and 12-pin plugs - all offering more features as the pin number increases. It’s worth noting that not all plugs are universal based on their pin number. For instance, the shape and size of the actual plug can vary, and certain plugs are suitable for a certain weight range, so it’s worth doing your research to know which plug is suited for your trailer.
